Little Man

Tristan MiracleTristan Miracle

I carried you a while, as close as one could
I sang to you sweetly, as any mommy would

You came to be with me, to learn and to grow
How long this journey will be, none of us know

I wake each day, longing for your sweet face to see
Waiting to hear pitter patter feet, headed for me

You reach my door and announce, "mommy it's me"
The excitement I feel, makes me almost feel three

Our eyes meet, like a journeys been made
And we grasp each other, like a debts been paid

Up on the bed, and beneath the warm sheets
I can feel and hear, the strong heart beats

Your smell so sweet, that tells me you're mine
It touches my senses, like nothing I can define

We start our first moments, with giggles & hugs
It suddenly changes course, with stories of bugs

We sit for some time, as time stands still
We begin to make plans, of our day we'll fill

I pull out your clothes, little, soft and sweet
Carefully put them on, from head to your feet

Your hair tosses about, as if it's at play
I know it will return, before end of the day

A movie, a book, a song or two
What will we start with, what will we do

Your tummy tells me, it's time for some eats
Eggs, oatmeal or cereal, you just want treats

We clean up, we brush, we sing along the way
We continue to discover, what we'll do this new day

Before long your eyes, slowly begin to close
My little guy is tired, off to dreams he goes

I hurry to complete, my tasks for the day
I know the moment you wake, it's back to play

You squirm, you stretch, for that time has come
To continue your day, to dance, run and hum

It's off to the park, to visit some friends
You make your way, through life's uncertain bends

You glance across, to see if I'm in sight
But really you grin, to tell me you're alright

We wash up and set up, for dinner has come
Our day has gone fast, it is almost done

Daddy is here, there is so much to tell
We share our stories, that all went well

We fill the tub, with bubbles and toys
Things that are important, we all know boys

Its powder and pajamas, put on so neat
Tucked in with story, to make it complete

We spent our day, so busy and free
Knowing I love you and you love me

Time will go on, as we both will see
One day you'll be a man, its how it must be

So for now I'll wait, for your sweet face to see
Waiting for pitter patter feet, headed for me

If you wanna run

Seems these days that my little guy is what keeps me sane. On the other hand he really gives me a run for it too. Winter keeps him bound to the house most days and finding interesting things for him to do has been quite the challenge. Things of interest isn't usually the worst of it. Rather, things agreed that are age appropiate and not death defying is the real challenge.  He's a rugged boy who loves terrain and adventure.

His tender side is in quite contrast to his need for speed crusade. He sings a lot and his favorite song is, "If you wanna run", written by Tristan. With Jumps and spins he riffles through each room singing, "If you wanna run, if you wanna run, if you wanna run, then run!" Quite inventive for a little guy. Along with running and climbing on near disastorious objects he loves anything with water. He can make an adventure out of a cup of water and by the time he's finished you'd think he started with a bucket. We have a water cooler just his height. When he disappears we know to first check the cooler area. He will fill any possible object with water. When he is caught he'll claim that he's thirsty near dehydration and if that doesn't get him sympathy he resorts to how he's cleaning it and surely that's acceptable even by mom's standards.
